Sound of Silence Appropriation

This was done for class - we had to appropriate a still life painting that had already been done, but you could change it slightly or re-do it in your own style. I chose to do "Sound of Silence" by Kyung Hwa Kim... I just found it on Google lol her's uses a lot more flat colours while mine is a lot more messy and everywhere. ;

The pink flowers on the right... were so much better before I tried to make them more extravagant DX Now they're crap, but oh-well. *sigh* I like how the birds of paradise turned out, though, but before I went over the painting again they were better. I should really learn to restrain myself before I do so much as to actually wreck the whole thing... D:
Critique is welcome, but I already know there're so many things wrong with this, just tips for painting would be nice <3

And scanning big things, especially things like this, is hard. They don't sit down on the scanner bed... I wish I either had a huge scanner or a digital camera... or maybe both... :0 You can see the center is blurry where it lifted off the scanner, and you might be able to see the split line too where I had to line the two pieces up... ><
